Wastewater Treatment & Collection
The City’s Wastewater Services include both the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Wastewater Collection System, which work together to safely manage and treat wastewater from homes and businesses.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant treats millions of gallons of wastewater each day using a biological treatment process before returning clean water to local streams. Ongoing testing is performed to protect water quality and the environment.
The Wastewater Collection System maintains more than 170 miles of sewer lines and multiple lift stations serving thousands of customers across the city and select surrounding areas. Crews use specialized equipment to inspect, clean, and maintain sewer infrastructure.
Emergency wastewater service is available 24/7.
Sewer Emergencies:

Water Treatment Plant
The Campbellsville Water Treatment Plant produces safe, potable drinking water for residential, commercial, and industrial use. The facility is capable of producing up to 9 million gallons of water per day and operates using modern treatment processes and continuous monitoring.
Raw water is treated through a multi-step process that removes impurities, disinfects the water, improves taste and safety, and protects distribution pipes. The City’s primary water source is the Green River Reservoir, with a secondary reservoir available as backup.
Extensive water quality testing is performed regularly, including required testing by state-certified laboratories, to ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
