Mike Ramsey named as Director of EMS

The City of Campbellsville is pleased to announce that Mike Ramsey has been appointed as the new Director of Campbellsville – Taylor County Emergency Medical Services. Mike Ramsey has been involved with emergency services in Campbellsville for 42 years. Mike began his career with emergency services with Campbellsville Taylor County Rescue in 1976. Since July of 2008 Mike has been a Critical Care Flight Paramedic with Air Evac Lifetime.
Some of Mike’s many achievements throughout his career in Emergency Medical Services include:
-Previous Rank of Deputy Chief with Campbellsville Taylor County Rescue
-400 Hour Certified Firefighter with Campbellsville Fire Rescue
-Associate of Applied Science Degree from KCTCS
-Kentucky licensed paramedic since 1978
-Kentucky emergency medical technician since 1976
-Certified Fire/Rescue/EMS Instructor since 1980
-American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor
-American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor
-International Fire Service Accreditation Firefighter Level I and II Certified

He has also been extensively involved in our community throughout the years with participation in the following :
-Served 2 years on Campbellsville City Council
-Served on the Campbellsville Fourth of July Celebration Executive Board of Directors
-Served as past special advisory committee member to the Campbellsville School Superintendent
-Served as Chairman with the Taylor County Unit of the Salvation Army
-Member First United Methodist Church
-Manages his own Home Inspection Business as a Licensed Home Inspector
Current CTCEMS Director Gary Magers announced his retirement last December to be effective May 2018. Director Magers retires with a total of 30 years in emergency services. He has served as Director since 2012. Director Magers has seen an increase in run volumes and long distance transfer of patients to other care facilities. During his tenure at TCEMS he has successfully lead the efforts of the service to focus on patient care. He has worked to increase certification levels of paramedics. He intends to work on remodeling and construction projects while continuing to work part time as a paramedic. He wishes the emergency services success and plans to assist and advise whenever possible to continue to provide the best in emergency care to our community. The City of Campbellsville would like to congratulate Gary on his retirement and the best of luck in his future.
