Park Maintenance Worker
Deadline: Friday, March 23, 2018.
Duties: Duties include but are not limited to performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of buildings, City grounds, parks, open spaces and recreation areas and structures.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of equipment, mowers, materials and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance, working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs, knowledge of safety precautions.
Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse weather conditions; ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely; ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the public.
Employee must have a valid driver’s license.
Tools and Equipment Used: Lawn and landscaping equipment, including tractors, pick-up trucks, mowers, chain saws, weed trimmers, hand and power tools used for grounds maintenance, painting, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
Physical Demands: While preforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, frequently required to stand, walk and use hands to operate tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.
